The chief neurosurgeon of the Russian Federation, Academician Vladimir Krylov, is in Armenia. Together with the medical team of the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine, he visited MC Erebouni to get acquainted with the capabilities of the medical center and discuss the prospects for further cooperation. The Executive Director of MC Erebouni, Professor Mikael Manukyan, presented to the Russian colleagues the capabilities of the medical center, the large volume of multidisciplinary surgeries performed, and the new surgical methods introduced in recent years. In the field of neurosurgery, the program for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, introduced in recent years in the republic and, in particular, in the MC Erebouni as well as exceptional surgical interventions of the brain and spinal cord, were particularly noted. The management of MC Erebouni attaches great importance to surgeries that are not performed with an open approach, so such surgeries are carried out in a large volume and successfully by surgical teams. During the meeting, the importance of orthopaedic and traumatological operations, which were carried out in a very large volume during the 44-day war and after it, to help the wounded soldiers was emphasized. Russian doctors toured the operating unit, visited the operating rooms, and got acquainted with the technical capabilities of the medical center.
