A well-known German professor, otolaryngologist Wolfgang Weitzsäcker performed 22 surgeries to restore hearing at MC Erebouni. During the 44-day war, a large number of soldiers received eardrum injury from various weapons. It caused partial or complete hearing loss. The solution to the problem is a surgical procedure that repairs the eardrum, which give boys a second chance to hear. Professor Wolfgang Weitzsäcker was in Armenia through the efforts of one of the important organizations operating in the Diaspora - the “Union of Armenian-German Doctors and Medical Workers”
