In Arrhythmology Department of Erebouni MC in the framework “Open Doors Day” was carried a special offer. The event provides an opportunity for the population of Armenia to get free specialist appointments and cardiological examinations, because the most important thing is timely and accurate diagnostics.
Arrhythmology Department of Erebouni MC provides diagnostics and treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Each year increases the number of patients with such diseases, especially among young people. Cardiovascular diseases tend to rise, so it is very important to carry out the screening among the population to identify the patients with cardiac arrhythmias, especially, that by objective or subjective reasons patients do not always go to the doctor in a timely manner.
Action, undertaken in the framework of the Open Doors Day, enables people to undergo certain clinical tests and consultation of arrhythmologists on free of charge base. In case of necessity they have also possibility to receive as conservative as intervention treatment depending on the disease (implantation of pacemakers or other electrophysiological procedure). The number of patients with atrial fibrillation increases from year to year, and by this the disease is becoming a serious problem for health care system. Today, alongside with the “classical” conservative medical therapy, an invasive method of atrial fibrillation treatment so called catheter ablation,
get widely used.
Leading cardiologist-arrhythmologists, guided by Director of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic Prof. Hamlet Hayrapetyan, MD, PhD, had provide the consultation and cardiac examination of the applied patients.
In the framework of this action about 50 patients had the opportunity to address the doctors and get a professional help, many of them were referred for further treatment in hospital.
Invasive arrhythmologist of Arrhythmology Department of MC Erebouni Dr. Mihran Martirosyan noted, that “such kind of events are very important in terms of identifying the patients at an early stage of the disease, making timely treatment more effective”. “I must say, that this action, as well as annual action, timed to World Heart Day- September 29, should become a kind tradition and attract a wider community, promote earlier diagnostics of cardiovascular diseases, which enable people to improve their quality of life”.
