At the end of January of 2017, a patient G.Z., 1976 y/b, was admitted to Erebouni MC with left wrist amputation caused by the electric saw.
Urgently a patient was taken to operating room of Plastic Surgery and Microsurgery Department, where under the supervision of the Head of Department Armen Hovhannisyan (MD, PhD) and leading plastic surgeon Edgar Hayrapetyan (MD) was carried out the most complicated surgery- wrist replantation (restoration of metacarpal bones, flexor and extensor tendons , nerves, arteries and veins). The surgery lasted about 10 hours.
P/o period was uneventful, the patient was under supervision of plastic surgeons. At present the patient undergoes intensive rehabilitative training on recovery of finger motor function.
Such kind of surgeries are extremely complex and aren`t carried out in every clinics.
