Warning Signs

Seek Immediate Hospital Care If You Have:

  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Shortness of breath, breathing difficulty
  • Pain in any location, especially in the abdomen, chest, or upper abdominal (epigastric) region
  • Leakage of amniotic fluid
  • Visual impairment, severe headache, dizziness
  • General weakness, apathy toward surroundings
  • Nausea and vomiting in the second half of pregnancy
  • Altered consciousness, convulsions
  • Changes in fetal movements — excessive movement, decreased movement, or absence of movement

Seek Medical Advice If You Have:

  • High fever
  • Persistent skin itching, rash
  • Nausea and vomiting in the first half of pregnancy
  • Swelling of the hands and feet, varicose veins
  • Weakness, irritability, insomnia
  • Headache, dizziness, fatigue
  • Frequent urination, pain or burning during urination
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Abundant non-bloody vaginal discharge
  • Changes in the amount or nature of vaginal discharge
  • Contact with individuals with infectious diseases
