Nutrition during pregnancy

Permitted Foods

  • Bread made from coarsely ground wheat flour; dry biscuits, crackers, and similar products prepared without yeast
  • Soups prepared with secondary meat broth and vegetables
  • Lean beef, veal, rabbit meat; poultry without skin; steamed cutlets and meatballs
  • Lean varieties of fish, preferably boiled
  • Buckwheat, rice, wheat, barley, corn, and oatmeal porridge
  • One to two eggs per day, preferably boiled
  • Boiled milk, kefir, low-fat cottage cheese, yogurt, low-fat sour cream, cheese
  • Various types of greens and vegetables, thoroughly washed, consumed raw or boiled
  • Fruits, berries, sunflower seeds, legumes
  • Olive, corn, and sunflower oil; butter; snacks and sweets in moderation
  • Coffee (no more than one cup per day); non-carbonated beverages; freshly prepared juices

Should Be Avoided

  • Bread and sweets made from refined (high-grade) flour
  • Rich poultry and meat broths
  • Fatty and smoked meats, sausages, processed meats, ready-made semi-finished products, canned foods
  • Fatty fish; salted, smoked, or canned fish; crab sticks
  • Limit semolina
  • Raw fish; undercooked fish and meat
  • Smoked and spicy cheeses; raw milk
  • Excessive consumption of citrus fruits and other allergenic foods (depending on individual intolerance)
  • Excessive consumption of candies and cream-filled confectionery; fast food
  • Alcoholic beverages; carbonated drinks; strong black tea and coffee
