In 02.10.17. pregnant woman G.L., 1986 y/b, was admitted to the High-risk Pregnancy Department of MC Erebouni with back pain complaints, walking difficulty and numbness in the right lower limb, pelvic dysfunction.
After carrying out all the necessary clinical and laboratory examinations, the council was convened with the participation of the Vice-Director of Erebouni MC in Obstetrics-Gynecology Service Dr. A. Poghosyan (MD, PhD), and Head of Department of Neurosurgery Prof. M.A. Eghunyan, MD. It has been diagnosed: Pregnancy 29 weeks , L5-S1 disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and a decision was made on the need for a surgery.
In 10.10.2017. the pregnant woman was transferred to the Department of Neurosurgery, where, under the dynamic supervision of the gynecologist, Dr. A. O . Ananyan, MD, Head of the Department Prof. Mamikon A. Egunyan the microsurgery for removal of a sequestered L5-S1 disc herniation , decompression of "horse tail" were carried out.
In 13.10.17. the pregnant woman G.L. was again transferred to the High-risk Pregnancy Department, where underwent rehabilitation course.
The postoperative period went uneventful, and in 17.10.17 the patient was discharged with a saved pregnancy and positive dynamics. In Armenia, namely in MC Erebouni, such a complex surgery was carried out for the first time, and serves as a good example of the high level of professionalism of the doctors of the clinic!
