Round-table discussion of experts was held in Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute from 30 November to 2 December, oncologists and chemotherapists from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan participated in seminar on “Prostate cancer. New approaches.”
Deputy General Director for science of Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute Professor B.Ya. Alekseev, PhD opened the scientific seminar, and the session was presided by Lead Researcher of Urologic Oncology Department of Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute(MNIOI) K.M.Nyushko, MD. New areas in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer were reviewed and discussed.
Armenia was represented at the seminar by Chief chemotherapist at MH RA, Head of Oncology Unit of MC Erebouni Dr. Haykuhi Geokchyan, MD,PhD.. with the topic on: “Prostate cancer. Situation in Armenia.” Issues related to statistics and the level of morbidity, degree of neglected diseases and mortality rates, the availability of diagnostic and treatment methods in Armenia were raised. During the seminar, there were also discussed new approaches in the applied protocols ASCO, ESMO and EUC, examined several complex practical cases.

Representatives of other participating countries of the seminar also shared information on the prostate cancer in their own country.
Seminar participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute (MNIOI)- one of the leading Research Institute of Russia, and to take part in several surgeries.

Outcome of two-day round table was very fruitful, and by mutual agreement of the parties, it was decided that the next seminar would be held in Armenia.
