Social package beneficiaries whose monthly salary amounts to AMD 200,001 or more will be included in the insurance system during the first phase (effective January 1, 2026). Their insurance premium will be financed through the reallocation of AMD 4,500 from the AMD 5,500 contribution currently directed to the “Zinapah” Foundation to the Insurance Fund. In addition, beneficiaries may allocate their monthly social package amount (AMD 6,000) toward the payment of the insurance premium.

Social package beneficiaries whose monthly salary is below AMD 200,000 will continue to receive services within the framework of the social package.

Beneficiaries wishing to undergo examinations at “Erebuni” Medical Center may call + (374) 55-55-30-70 or submit the required documents via the Viber application using the same number.

Following confirmation from the insurance company, a representative of the Medical Center will promptly inform the patient regarding approval of the request and the scheduled date of the visit.

Preventive medical check-ups at “Erebuni” Medical Center are available exclusively to social package beneficiaries registered with the Center’s outpatient polyclinic.

Following approval of the application, preventive examinations for scheduled beneficiaries are conducted within a short timeframe typically within one day and the corresponding medical certificate is issued on the same day.

To arrange a preventive medical check-up, beneficiaries are required, several days prior to the planned visit, to present their identification card (ID) at “Erebuni” Medical Center or register by sending a copy of their identification card (ID) via the Viber application to + (374) 55-55-30-70.

They will continue to allocate AMD 15,000 to the “Zinapah” Foundation.

The full monthly insurance premium of AMD 10,800 will be paid by them; however, beginning next year, they may receive a monthly reimbursement of AMD 4,000 through the social credit mechanism.

Following confirmation of reimbursement from the insurance company, the beneficiary must submit a written application to the Medical Center along with the fiscal receipt.

Priority is always given to the social package. Free medical care under another program may be accessed only if the respective service is not included within the scope of the social package.

For citizens earning between AMD 500,001 and AMD 1,000,000, of the AMD 8,500 currently allocated to the “Zinapah” Foundation, AMD 7,500 will be redirected to the Insurance Fund. The remaining AMD 3,300 will be deducted from their salary.

However, in 2027, this amount may be fully reimbursed through the personal income declaration system as an income tax refund.

In emergency cases, diagnostic examinations are carried out based on medical indication, and, if necessary, the patient is urgently hospitalized. Confirmation from the insurance company is obtained during the course of treatment.

In non-urgent (planned) cases, the patient contacts the insurance company using the telephone number indicated on the insurance card and, upon receiving approval, presents to the Insurance Service of “Erebuni” Medical Center with the confirmed authorization.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy is a diagnostic procedure used to examine the esophagus, stomach, and the initial portion of the duodenum. It enables the detection of various conditions affecting these organs, including esophagitis, gastritis, ulcers, as well as benign and malignant neoplasms.

When necessary, tissue samples may be obtained during the procedure for histological examination. This diagnostic method also allows for the detection of Helicobacter pylori infection.

Preparation for Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

1–2 days prior to the examination, it is advisable to exclude the following from your diet:

  • Chocolate
  • Nuts
  • Foods containing seeds and those rich in coarse fiber
  • Salads heavily dressed with mayonnaise
  • Whole-grain bread
  • Fatty meat or fish
  • Cheese

You may consume:

  • Green salads
  • Chicken meat
  • Steamed chicken cutlets
  • Buckwheat porridge
  • Low-fat cottage cheese

It is important to avoid grains and legumes.

On the evening before the examination, dinner may consist of mashed potatoes or steamed broccoli.

Alcohol consumption should be discontinued prior to the procedure.

The last meal must be taken no later than 6:00 PM on the previous day.
Dinner should be filling but must not include heavy or difficult-to-digest foods.

On the day of the examination, no food or beverages should be consumed.
A small amount of water may be taken no later than 2–4 hours before the procedure.

The intake of medications in capsule or tablet form should be postponed unless otherwise directed by your physician.

If you have a history of allergies — particularly to medications — you must inform your physician in advance.

If you have undergone previous related examinations or received inpatient treatment, it is advisable to present the corresponding discharge summaries and test results.

When undergoing the examination within the framework of a state-funded program or insurance coverage, reimbursement must be pre-approved by the relevant department. Otherwise, the examination may be performed only on a paid basis.

Computed tomography (CT) of the gastrointestinal tract is performed with intravenous contrast enhancement.

The differences relate both to the structure of the coverage package and to the reimbursement rates.

However, as with state-funded medical services, the insurance system likewise begins at the primary healthcare level. When necessary, further treatment is organized upon referral by a family physician or pediatrician — ranging from specialist consultations to inpatient hospital care — with the exception of emergency and urgent cases.

For individuals earning between AMD 200,001 and AMD 500,000, the majority of the insurance premium will be reimbursed by the state in 2026. Specifically, of the AMD 5,500 currently allocated to the “Zinapah” Foundation, AMD 4,500 will be redirected to the Insurance Fund. An additional AMD 6,000 will be covered by the state budget.

As a result, individuals within this income group will pay only AMD 300 per month.

No action is required on the part of the citizen.

Only social package beneficiaries must submit a one-time written application authorizing that the social package amount be directed to the Insurance Fund instead of being transferred to their personal account.

The insurance premium is required to be settled by January 20.

Citizens will be informed of their inclusion in the insurance system by January 1.

Step 1: The citizen will receive an SMS notification confirming their inclusion in the insurance system.

Step 2: The citizen must register in the “ArMed” mobile application and activate the insurance package with a single click.

Step 3: If the citizen does not have access to the electronic application, the package may also be activated through their family physician, outpatient therapist, or nurse.

Medical services reimbursed under health insurance may be received at both public and private healthcare institutions upon presentation of the insurance certificate.

The specific lists of diseases, diagnoses, screenings, and medications included in the insurance package will be available through the “ArMed” application, as well as on the official websites of the Ministry of Health and the Insurance Fund.

Upon becoming unemployed, a citizen is registered within the temporary incapacity system, through which they receive a certain allowance for a defined period. Therefore, during those months, the insurance premium must also be paid.

Once a citizen enters the insurance system, they remain enrolled for a period of 12 months, regardless of whether they continue to meet the eligibility criteria during that period.

The insurance package will be suspended.

In cases where the full cost of a medication is not reimbursed, the citizen is required to pay the outstanding balance as a co-payment.
