The decision of the accreditation commission has been announced: Erebuni Medical Center has been awarded the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. From now on, Erebuni Medical Center stands among JCI-accredited medical institutions in France, Monaco, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, as well as Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other leading countries across the world.
Joint Commission International is the global leader in healthcare accreditation. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality and safety of healthcare, providing high-value, cost-effective services at every stage of quality improvement in more than 90 countries worldwide. JCI accreditation is widely recognized as the “Gold Standard” of international healthcare accreditation.
To stand on the same platform as the world’s leading clinics, it is not enough to have outstanding specialists and state-of-the-art equipment. It also requires the implementation and continuous application of international quality management protocols. One and a half years ago, Erebuni Medical Center obtained the ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, which became the first major and responsible step toward JCI accreditation. During this period, extensive work was carried out to implement and manage quality systems, engaging all departments of the medical center.
These efforts included ensuring patient safety, protection of patient rights and personal data, unhindered communication with medical staff, the implementation of clinical guidelines with clear criteria and procedures for medical consultations, diagnostics, hospitalization, and discharge, the establishment of medication management systems, development of infection prevention and control mechanisms, management of facilities and medical equipment, enhancement of the physical environment and fire safety systems, modernization of radiation safety services, monitoring of household electrical equipment, emergency preparedness planning, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
Although the accreditation requirements were extremely rigorous and aimed at ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, management, and international excellence, the staff of Erebuni Medical Center, through unified effort and dedicated work, successfully completed this demanding journey with distinction.
For more than thirty years, Professor Harutyun Kushkyan has continuously elevated the quality of medical care and service standards at Erebuni Medical Center, consistently setting new benchmarks. This is a long and responsible path shaped under his leadership—one that requires determination and commitment to ensure that Erebuni Medical Center remains firmly positioned on the map of the world’s leading medical institutions, maintaining its stable and respected role as a regional leader in high-quality healthcare delivery.
