On January 28, 2026, oncologic urologist Arman Tsaturyan performed surgery using a robotic surgical system for the first time at Erebuni Medical Center, carrying out a prostate removal (radical prostatectomy).
The decision to perform the first robotic-assisted surgery was driven by a diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Present in the operating room were physicians who had recently completed specialized training in Shenzhen, China, led by Ara Vardanyan, Deputy Director for Surgery at Erebuni Medical Center, along with other surgeons of the center, anesthesiologist-resuscitators, and multidisciplinary specialists.
The Executive Director of Erebuni Medical Center, Professor Mikael Manukyan, a urologist with many years of surgical experience, closely followed the course of the procedure. The surgery was successfully completed, accompanied by congratulations and words of appreciation.
